About Support Our Troops

The official charitable fund of the Canadian Armed Forces community, administered by Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services. Formed in 2016 from the amalgamation of the Military Families Fund and the Canadian Forces Personnel Assistance Fund, it provides emergency financial assistance, mental health support and family programs to serving members, veterans and their families.

Why the Tallman Giving Fund supports them

Rooted in Gord's father's service in the Second World War, and sharpened by the killing of Corporal Nathan Cirillo. The family completed a $625,000 scholarship program in May 2022, funds a $5,000-a-year Tallman Scholarship, and has committed an 8% estate bequest with a $300,000-a-year disbursement plan directed at financial assistance, mental health and greatest-need programs.
