About Parkinson Research (Ottawa Hospital)

The Ottawa Hospital Foundation raises funds for patient care and for research at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, one of Canada's leading hospital-based research centres, in partnership with the University of Ottawa.

Why the Tallman Giving Fund supports them

A direct family connection: Gord's brother Don Tallman was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2018, and he and his wife Diana took up fundraising in the Ottawa area. Gord and Bev backed a research project aimed at limiting the progression of the disease by alleviating neuroinflammation, committing $655,604 to work carried out with the University of Ottawa. The project was named "Taller Than PD" after the family, and completed in May 2023.
